Introduction to Romans
Tonight as an intro into Romans and our first night together we did an overview of the book. Most of us are reading our Bibles as the primary source then going through at least one commentary. I am hoping to upload the homework early this week but here are a few things to get you started. Our memory verse is near the top of the blog and will change every week. We talked about the outline of Romans, the major themes, the author, the church, the doctrine, the purposes and the application. If you have a study Bible you will probably find this information fairly easily. Our homework this week and the lesson I will post next Sunday night will cover chapters 1-2. Go ahead and dig in! It will be more than worth every moment you invest! I am praying for you!

Uncovering the Ruins and Applying the Riches!
Well ladies, here we go. This week I will begin considering Paul's ancient letter to the church in Rome. I am wondering about the purposes of this letter and the events occurring in Rome as Paul wrote these amazing words which Martin Luther later called "the theology of the Cross". I will be going to the Bible first as our primary source, and then exploring commentaries . If you have a study Bible you may want to read through the introduction and outline. You might even consider reading all 16 chapters of Romans just to get an overview, but even if you don't have time to read a word please join us next Sunday night as we begin this adventure!

Ramping up to start the book of Romans!
Are you ready to study one of Paul's most impressive letters? Later this month we will begin to post content and questions to ponder from Paul's letter to the church in Rome. Until then each of us is reading through and allowing the Word of God to be our primary source. You may do the same, comment at any time, or just follow us on the blog. You decide!

Calling women of all ages!
For the past decade a small group of young women have met regularly to encourage each other and to learn what the Bible has to say about life. They have developed amazing friendships and now want to reach out to other women across the globe. These women have found their God to be faithful and loving through the years. Starting September 2010, they will be meeting weekly to discuss a book of the Bible and then post comments. Come join us!

Why study? Why meet together? Why blog?
"My goal is that they will be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love. I want them to have full confidence because they have complete understanding of God's secret plan, which is Christ Himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Colossians 2:2-3
